I’ve always been fascinated by animals and after completing a Zoology (Hons) degree at Glasgow it was a dream come true to spend three months as a volunteer on Aride Island Nature Reserve in the Seychelles. This led to six years working for BirdLife International and private island owners on various conservation projects with the emphasis on sea turtles, giant tortoises, critically endangered landbirds and many seabird species.
I completed my vet degree in South Africa and volunteered, while a student, at the school’s exotic animal and bird clinic for 4 years. I have since worked in South Africa and the UK and look forward to offering advice, guidance and treatment for most exotic species, especially parrots, in the Forest of Dean.
