Our veterinary consultations are by appointment, to reduce waiting times and stress to our patients. Sick patients are always seen the same day and we have no waiting lists for any procedures.
Our consultations are longer than many veterinary surgeries. This extra time is to allow for a full and thorough examination of your pet. Vaccinations include a full health check by the vet. To book an appointment for consultation, please call us.
In an emergency, always telephone first - we can get vital equipment ready for you and advise you what to do. It is almost always best to transport casualties to the surgery as this is quickest and our life support equipment will be ready to hand. Call us on our 24-hour emergency number on 01594 840404.

Veterinary Home Visits are available when necessary.
We are happy to visit pets at home but we cannot bring all our surgery equipment with us and therefore the examination may not be as thorough as we would normally like. Some pets are more difficult to handle at home as they are protecting you. We will gladly discuss this with you when we make your appointment.
Our friendly, caring and qualified vet nurses are always available for advice and also offer various clinics such as regular weight checks, geriatric club, dental smile club and puppy parties. Puppies and kittens also come along on a monthly basis for more socialisation and monitoring of possible queries.
We can also offer rehabilitation following orthopaedic and soft tissue surgery and to help manage some arthritic patients. We can even take the hassle out of worming your cat!
Out of Hours
We hope that your pet remains fit and well and will not need to use our out-of-hours service but, if they do, we are confident that the care and dedication you will receive will be of the highest standard.
We have used Wood Veterinary Group for out out of hours service for many years and they always provide a first class service for our clients and their pets.

Veterinary admissions wards are centrally heated day and night. All pets receive personal nursing care. You are very welcome to visit your pet and discuss progress as often as you wish and we will make every effort to make your pet's stay as comfortable as possible. We understand how worrying it is to leave your pet, so do ask any questions as they arise and let us know of your pet's likes and dislikes.
Our number one goal is to make sure that your pet is as comfortable as possible during their stay at the surgery. We are very happy for you to visit your pets if they are staying at the surgery and welcome phone calls and visits to discuss their progress.
Veterinary operations are performed under sterile conditions in theatre, with full monitoring during the op and recovery period. Modern anaesthetics are very safe, but we offer blood tests before surgery to detect any problems that may increase the anaesthetic risk.
Your hospitalised pet will not be 'shoved in a cage overnight and not seen until the morning', but will receive round-the-clock nursing according to his/her needs.
